Call for paper

This workshop provides an opportunity for all those interested in European Macroeconomics to discuss their research and to exchange ideas. Researchers are invited to submit both empirical and theoretical papers that are broadly consistent with the workshop’s special topic.

In particular we welcome papers related to the following fields in European Macroeconomics:

  • Inflation, Interest Rates, and Monetary Policy Challenges
  • Fiscal Policy, fiscal Rules and Public Debt Sustainability
  • International trade, Trade and Industrial Policy in a Fragmented Global Order
  • External Debt Sustainability, international reserves, exchange rates
  • Banking system, financial integration, financial stability
  • Labor market mutations, Wages, Living Wage, Migrations, Poverty and inequality
  • The Euro’s Role in a Shifting Global Economy
  • Climate change, environment and energy crisis, Energy Security and Economic Stability
  • Digitalization, automation and growth
  • Political tensions, political macroeconomics and geopolitical risks
  • Political bias, Stakeholders game, Trust in institutions
  • Fight against Corruption and the Underground Economy

The workshop is open to anybody involved in these research areas, including both young and experienced researchers, Ph.D. students, post-doctoral researchers, and professionals from business, government and nongovernmental institutions. Besides, a special attention will be given to interdisciplinary works in Political science and in Law that tackle the aforementioned fields.

 

Organization

The workshop is jointly organized by the International Network for Economic Research (INFER) and the European Macroeconomics Research Team of Strasbourg University (ERMEES). INFER is a non-profit international scientific organization that stimulates research and research networking in all fields of economics through international workshops and conferences. ERMEES (the European Macroeconomics Research Team of Strasbourg) was born, in 2013, from the will to federate researchers specializing in European economic issues in the University of Strasbourg. Submission of Papers

Only full papers may be submitted, preferably in pdf-format. Papers should be submitted through the conference website: https://ermees2025.sciencesconf.org/. The submission should mention the following details: title of communication, name(s) of the author(s), affiliation of the author(s), e-mail address of the corresponding author.

 

Important dates

  • April 15, 2025: launch of the call for papers
  • August 31, 2025: deadline for full paper submission.
  • September 15, 2025: authors will be informed of the decision of the scientific committee.
  • October 15, 2025: authors will need to confirm their participation and to send the final version of the paper.

 

Registration and Registration Fee

There will be no registration fees for presenters. For other participants, fees amount to 50 euros.
